Kristan Ross
M.S., LCMHC-A, LCAS-A
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a strong passion for helping individuals, couples, and families create meaningful and lasting change in their lives. I earned my bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Africana Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Mount Olive.
I have experience working with children, individuals across the lifespan, and those navigating eating disorders. I also hold associate licensure in both mental health counseling and substance use disorders, allowing me to support clients managing addiction and co-occurring concerns.
While I work with a variety of concerns, I am especially passionate about couples and marriage counseling. I help partners improve communication, rebuild trust, and move out of repetitive cycles that keep them feeling disconnected.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that when we are willing to shift how we think and respond, meaningful change becomes possible. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Exposure Therapy, tailoring each session to your specific needs.
Outside of therapy, I love nature… preferably from the inside, and spending time with my golden retriever, Cornbread (“Corn”).
