Blossom Family Therapy - What to Expect in Your Sessions
​
The First Intake Session
​
In your initial session with our therapist, you'll have a 90-minute intake session. During this time, your therapist will ask you various background questions and explore what brings you to therapy. We understand that you may be eager to dive into your therapy goals right away, but rest assured that all the questions we ask are relevant, even if their significance isn't immediately apparent. Building a comprehensive understanding of your situation is crucial to us, as it enables us to see the full picture and provide more effective help, attentive listening, and stronger connections. Additionally, this session is an excellent opportunity for you to get a sense of your therapist's style and personality, discuss your therapy objectives, and understand their approach. Establishing a good rapport with your therapist is a key factor in ensuring a positive therapeutic experience. So, come on in and meet us!

Subsequent Sessions
​
Regular sessions typically last 50-60 minutes, unless alternative arrangements have been made with our office. It's worth noting that family sessions and couple sessions may require longer durations, and your therapist will discuss this with you.

How many sessions will I need?
​
The number of sessions you will need is primarily determined by you, your goals, needs, and your desire for change. It genuinely depends on your unique circumstances. Most of our clients experience significant progress towards their initial therapy goals within 3-6 months of weekly or bi-weekly sessions. Nevertheless, many individuals opt to set new objectives or continue therapy well beyond this timeframe. Our therapeutic approach is goal-oriented, and the duration of your therapy journey is linked to the objectives you set. We equip you with tools and skills during our sessions to facilitate the changes you wish to make in your life. Our ultimate aim is to empower you to no longer require our services, but we also recognize that everyone has different needs and aspirations. We adjust our pace to match yours.

Session Durations and Costs

At Blossom Family Therapy, we offer comprehensive therapy services at the following rates:

80-minute Intake Session: $275.00 (Please refer to intake information)

50-minute Session: $175.00

Extended Couple & Family Sessions (duration may vary): Custom rates available, please contact us

30-minute Add-On Sessions: $100.00

Payment Terms:
For your convenience, we accept various forms of payment, including cash, card (Visa, American Express, Mastercard), or check. Payment is due at the time of the session for self-pay clients.
First Session (Intake): 90 minutes for $275.00
Subsequent Sessions: 50 minutes for $175.00
Additional Time: Can be added and billed in 30-minute increments
A portion of our practice is reserved for individuals seeking sliding-scale fee options. Please contact our office to inquire about available sliding-scale openings.

Insurance and Payment Options
At Blossom Family Therapy, we strive to provide flexibility and support regarding insurance and payment options. Depending on your health insurance or employee benefit plan, out-of-network services might be covered fully or partially. Contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates for psychotherapy services.

Out-of-Network Services:
We do not accept all insurances and may be considered an out-of-network provider. Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, out-of-network services might be covered in full or in part. Contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

Guidance for Determining Benefits:

We recommend asking your insurance provider the following questions to determine your out-of-network benefits:

Does my insurance cover Couples or Family counseling?

Couples & Family Counseling
​
Please be aware that most insurers do not cover or reimburse couples counseling, even if it's out-of-network. To find out if your insurance provides coverage, ask your insurer specifically about the diagnostic code Z63.0 – Problems in relationship with spouse or partner. Inquire about the procedure code to use, the number of covered sessions, and request this information in writing.

Payment and Cancellation Policy
Payment:
Payment for services is due on the day the services are provided. A valid credit card must be kept on file for all clients, and it will be billed on the morning of your scheduled session.
Accepted forms of payment include cash, Visa, American Express, and Mastercard. Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA) can also be used for therapy payments, provided a backup credit card is on file to cover any unpaid balances.

Cancellation Policy:
If you are unable to attend a session, kindly ensure that you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, the full rate of the session will be charged.
CANCELLATIONS, NO SHOWS, AND RESCHEDULING

At Blossom Family Therapy, we understand that life can sometimes throw unexpected challenges our way. In order to respect both your time and our therapists' schedules, we have established a 24-hour advance notice cancellation policy, which is a standard practice in the industry.
​
If you find it necessary to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly request that you do so at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled session. Failure to provide this notice in advance, or not showing up for your scheduled appointment, will result in a charge equivalent to your cash rate session fee.
