Hello, my name is AJ, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate at Blossom Family Therapy. Born on the south side of Chicago, I moved to the Lake Norman area at the age of four. I graduated from Wesleyan University with an undergraduate degree in psychology and earned my master's in social work from the Joint Master of Social Work program offered by the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

I became a therapist because I am passionate about assisting young adults navigating life transitions, feelings of inadequacy, loneliness, and anxiety. Helping individuals who have never had the space to discuss their feelings is a driving force that motivates me every day.

My therapeutic approach incorporates a variety of techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. I have experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, encompassing various gender identities, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and religions. I strive to recognize and honor the entirety of each person I meet, centering our work around the client's unique needs and goals. This helps build a strong foundation for their healing journey.
